Free advice is the most expensive advice

Who doesn’t like free stuff? Free samples, free coupon, free gift, free mobile app.

Free” means something that costs you no money. But, of course, nothing in this world is free — especially property and financial investment advice.

Getting free but poor advice from property spruikers or marketers isn’t really free after all — there’s a significant cost involved.

Most investors spend their first 10 years learning what not to do and that’s an expensive waste of time. On the other hand, many of the investors who paid a strategic advisor to guide them have done very well over the last few years.

But how do you select a trusted advisor?

First, a trusted advisor tailors their recommendations to your personal circumstances.

Second, they warn you of the risks before the rewards.

Third, they will tell you how much time the strategy involves.

Finally, ask them how are you getting paid?

Don’t get me wrong, trusted advisor should be get paid but they should get paid from you not from third party, such as property developer, banker, financial institution).

Professional advice should cost you money not free. From my observation, all the successful investors and business people I know are prepared to pay for professional advisors in various categories of their life. On the other hand, most unsuccessful investors get no advice or “free” advice and then wonder what went wrong.

You can decide do you want to be successful or not.
